Braised Pak choi (Bok choi), mushrooms and tauge (bean sprouts) recipe

If we are making any oriental style meal at our place, we always make this as an add-on item to be eaten as a salad or greens with the meat/fish dish. This is a very flavorful dish and I personally love chinese lettuce (also known as pak choi or bok choi).

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 10 min

Things you need:
Garlic pods—chopped … 3-4
Onion—chopped …1
Ginger—chopped … Small piece
Sesame oil … 2 tbsp
Soya sauce … 2-4 tbsp
Sesame seeds … few tbsp
Mushrooms … around 200gm
Bean sprouts … around 50-100gm
Pak choi/bok choi … few stems
Chili powder … as per taste

Here’s how:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, and once hot add the chopped garlic/ginger and chopped onion. Let the onion brown nicely.

2. Add pak choi and sautee it for a few mins. Once it becomes a bit soft, please add the mushrooms and sautee it on high flame while stirring

3. Then reduce the flame and add the bean sprouts + soya sauce + 1/2 cup water and cover the pan to let it simmer for a few minutes.

4. Once cooked, please sprinkle some sesame seeds on top and the dish is ready to eat.
