I originally booked an economy ticket for my flight from Muscat to Mumbai, but the night before departure, I decided to upgrade to Business Class using cash. It was a spontaneous choice, and I’m glad I did — the upgrade made the flight a whole new level of comfort and luxury. Interestingly, I bid the lowest amount on the upgrade slider and still received the Business Class seat. Since it’s a short flight of just over two hours, it seems Oman Air is more flexible with upgrades on regional routes, making it a surprisingly easy way to experience their premium product.
The Business Class seat itself felt a little dated compared to some newer cabins, but it was still comfortable, especially for a short flight like this one. The seat offered enough space to stretch out and relax, making the upgrade feel worthwhile.

Each seat comes with a personal TV screen, though on this short flight, I didn’t receive an amenity kit. For a quick two-hour journey, the seat and entertainment options were more than sufficient.

The Business Class cabin is quite intimate, with 12 seats in total, arranged 4 across in a single row. The layout felt cozy and private, perfect for a short regional flight.

The food and drinks menu was well presented

Although alcoholic drinks weren’t listed on the menu, the crew was happy to serve them upon request, making it easy to enjoy a drink during the flight.
For the meal, I chose the stuffed chicken. On this short flight, I didn’t order any drinks from the crew and just had water, which was perfectly fine for a journey of just over two hours.

I originally booked an economy ticket but upgraded to Business Class at the last minute using cash, and it turned out to be a great decision. The cabin is small and intimate, with only 12 seats in a 4-across layout, making it feel private and relaxed. The seat was comfortable, though slightly dated, and came with a personal TV screen. On this short two-hour flight, I didn’t receive an amenity kit, but the essentials were well taken care of.
The meal was simple but satisfying — I had stuffed chicken, and while I didn’t request alcoholic drinks, the crew was happy to serve them on request. Overall, the flight offered a comfortable, hassle-free experience, proving that even a short regional flight in Business Class can feel like a nice upgrade.
